California Title 20 states portable lamps sold in or into California must:

  • Have a GU-24 socket for use with a florescent  or LED lamp.
    OR
  • Have 2 or 4 pin sockets wired to a florescent ballast.
    OR
  • Include a CFL in the packaging (If manufactured with a screw base socket).
